Prof. Dr. Klaus Schaefer
Attorney at Law
Prof. Dr. Klaus Schaefer is an expert in film and media law thanks to his many years of experience.
He received his doctorate from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 1981 on a copyright-related topic and can draw on a wealth of experience as a lawyer, as head of the Media Law and Media Policy Department in the Bavarian State Chancellery and as the long-standing managing director of "FilmFernsehFonds Bayern GmbH" (Bavarian Film, Games and Media Fund). As draft author of the Bavarian Media Act, he is also your competent contact in broadcasting law.
From 1995 to 2022, Prof Dr Klaus Schaefer taught at the University of Television and Film Munich ("HFF"), since 2009 as an honorary professor. He is an honorary senator of this university.
His services to Bavaria as a film and media location were honoured with the Bavarian Order of Merit in 2007.
Klaus Schaefer advises on all legal issues relating to film, television, games, radio and other media. Due to his extensive experience in moderating legal and media policy events, he is also available to you as an experienced moderator of such events and expert panels.
Based on his many years of experience as chairman or board member of various non-profit associations, Prof. Schaefer will also be happy to advise you on association law issues and draft the appropriate articles of association for your organisation.
He will also be happy to advise you on general civil and administrative law issues.
As a special service, Klaus Schaefer offers screenwriters, project developers and producers a review of scripts for films and series, insofar as they contain legal issues, with regard to their professional credibility and coherence. In addition to his legal expertise, he can draw on his many years of experience in reviewing and evaluating more than 6,000 screenplays in the context of funding.
Peter Schaefer
Attorney at Law & Mediator
Peter Schaefer is a lawyer admitted to the Bar Association for the Higher Regional Court District of Munich.
After studying law at the University of Regensburg, he completed his legal clerkship (Referendariat) in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Munich.
He represents your interests in the fields of Intellectual Property Law, Sports Law, International Business & Contract Law and German Association Law.
Peter Schaefer has specialised in License Agreements. With 700+ License Agreements drafted, negotiated and executed, he is your competent contact for questions regarding the licensing of patents, software, know-how, trademarks, designs and more. Through his many years of experience in working with universities and research institutions, he advises such institutions and their spin-offs on licensing, contract negotiation and other intellectual property issues.
Peter Schaefer advises in German and English language.
Peter Schaefer is also a trained mediator and guides clients through the process of out-of-court conflict resolution within the framework of mediation.
Peter Schaefer has been an elected member of the election committee ("Wahlausschuss") at TSV München von 1860 e.V. since October 2021. He has been Chairman of this committee since August 2022.
Nadia Schaefer
Attorney at Law
Nadia Schaefer represents your interests in all aspects of labour and social law.
After her law studies at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, Nadia Schaefer completed her legal clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Munich. As part of her training, she focused on employment and commercial law at an early stage and acquired her expertise by working in large law firms such as Reed Smith LLP as well as individual law firms and as an in-house lawyer in companies.
Thanks to the experience she gained while working for the government of Upper Bavaria, Nadia Schaefer is also your competent contact for all matters relating to social law.
Nadia Schaefer speaks 5 languages. She therefore also advises in English and French.
